Sales Manager – Environmental

Our Client

A German-based  MNC, who focuses on the manufacturing of machinery, also providing tailor-made solutions in engineering operations, process technologies and technical services.

Job Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible to ensure the growth of the environmental technology and service portfolio of the organisation in Malaysia and Singapore. This includes thermal, chemical and mechanical treatment of solid, gaseous and liquid waste.

Responsibilities

Sales & Target

  • Generate sales calls and visit existing and potential customers
  • Conduct presentations and demos, proof of concepts and any other related demonstrations as relevant to sales
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements
  • Perform analyses of existing and potential customers’ needs and offer solutions that address their needs
  • Negotiate tender and contract terms and conditions in line with the company’s standards, rules and regulations or as directed
  • Achieve sales targets on a yearly and quarterly basis
  • Cooperate and coordinate with team members and other departments e.g. Technical Services, Engineering Operations and sales colleagues from other departments, in order to be able to offer solutions that fulfil the customer’s needs
  • Regular update of CRM system and report to management and supply partner in writing
  • Calculate client quotations

Market Strategies & Business Development

  • Analyse the territory/ market’s potential and identify potential customers
  • Conduct competitor analyses to determine the direction for business and market development
  • Supply management with information on customer needs, problems, interests and competitive activities
  • Keep yourself constantly updated on relevant knowledge, trends and best practices
  • Support continuous improvement by pro-actively providing new ideas
  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows and conferences

Customer Relationship

  • Liaise regularly with the customers
  • Provide excellent service to customers by giving undivided attention and focus on meeting their needs
  • Anticipate questions, concerns and future issues and provide solutions which consistently will result in repeated business, word of mouth referrals and increased sales
  • Find solutions to customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction

Requirements

  • Preferred Bachelors Degree in Process/ Mechanical/ Environmental Engineering or equivalent sales experience in Process Technology
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in waste related industry
  • Access to environmental associations and operational waste management in Malaysia and Singapore
  • Good knowledge and understanding of recycling technologies not limited to: thermal, chemical or mechanical treatment of waste with the ability to present tailor-made solutions to our clients
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills
  • Readiness to travel locally and overseas
